🎯 How to use it — 3 steps
Step 1 — Get realistic questions. Paste in the JD and have the AI play HR to generate questions.
Step 2 — Learn how to score well. Ask the AI to demonstrate strong answers and study the structure (the STAR method) — don’t just memorise the answers.
Step 3 — Do a live mock interview (ChatGPT only). Tap the voice button to open “Use Voice” mode, have the AI act as a real interviewer, and practise with instant feedback.
💬 The Prompt
Here is the job description (JD) for the role I'm applying for: [Paste full JD] I'm applying for the [job title] role at [company name]. Please act as the HR / hiring manager of this company. Based on this JD: - Generate the 10 most likely interview questions - Include both behavioral and technical questions - Order them from easy to advanced Then, for each question: - Show me a strong sample answer - Break it down using the STAR method - Point out common mistakes I should avoid
🎙️ Live Mock Interview Prompt (ChatGPT voice mode)
Act as the interviewer at [company name] and run a mock interview with me. Rules: - Ask one question at a time, and wait for me to finish before the next one - I'll answer by voice - After each answer, give me instant feedback: where I ran too long, where I missed the point, and how to improve - Conduct the whole thing in [language] When you're ready, start with the first question.
⭐ The STAR Method
The golden framework for behavioral questions — it keeps your answers structured and persuasive:
- S — Situation: Set the scene. What was the context?
- T — Task: What were you responsible for solving? What was the goal?
- A — Action: What specifically you did (most important — say what “I” did, not just “we”).
- R — Result: The outcome, ideally backed by numbers or real impact.
Example — Interviewer asks: “Tell me about a time you solved a problem under pressure.”
(S) While rushing a project deadline, we found a critical data error. (T) I had to find the problem within two days while still delivering on time. (A) I re-checked the entire workflow to trace the source, then split the verification across the team. (R) We delivered on time, and the client praised the report’s accuracy.
💡 Tips
The clearer your details, the more realistic the practice:
- Company name + job title: so the AI knows the industry and role
- The full JD: questions will map closer to the real requirements
- Your experience level: e.g. fresh grad / 3 years’ experience / career-changer
STAR focus: make your Action specific, and give your Result a number where you can. Many people spend a paragraph on Situation and rush through Action and Result — that’s a wasted answer.
One last thing: AI isn’t here to help you fool the interviewer — it’s here to help you practise your best self until it comes out naturally. Run through it three or four times, and on the real day it’ll feel like you’ve already done it once. Much less nerve-wracking.
